Harvest of Giving
“Harvest of Giving” is our year-end fundraising campaign, offering multiple ways to support the Lindsborg Old Mill and Swedish Heritage Museum with your financial support!
…about what these efforts are supporting at the museum in 2025.
Giving Opportunities
-
$5,000 Museum Match (Ends December 31, 2024): Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, all new and renewing memberships – as well as one-time donations – made between now and the end of the year will be DOUBLED with a one-to-one match (up to a total of $5,000). To secure an annual membership, visit the page HERE or make a one-time donation. Just follow the link HERE to give directly via PayPal, or fill out and mail us the giving form HERE with your payment, or bring it in person to 120 E. Mill St., Lindsborg, KS. All contributions will go to the museum’s operational budget – critical to ensure the museum stays open and growing.
-
Memberships: Even after the $5,000 match is secured, memberships are a great way to support the museum, with affordable options at $40 for an individual, $60 for a family, or $125 for a business. They form a stable base of support for the museum’s ongoing mission. Secure your membership today HERE!
-
Save the Pavilion: The historic 1904 World’s Fair Swedish Pavilion at the museum is in critical need of structural repairs to prevent it from catastrophic collapse and a new roof to prevent leaks and water damage. Giving under the Community Service Program tax credits grant will help ensure we have ALL of the funds for structural repair as well as a good start on fundraising for the Pavilion’s new roof. PLUS if you file a Kansas tax return, you may be eligible for a credit worth 70% of your donation! LEARN MORE!
-
Millfest Sponsorship: Millfest is May 3, 2025, and is the most exciting event on the museum’s calendar – the one day every year people can take guided tours of the 127-year-old mill in operation! Opportunities to be an event sponsor at a variety of affordable levels are open now and – new this year – there are a limited number of opportunities to sponsor a specific Millfest attraction (face painting, old mill tours, and music performances). Donation of items for a Silent Auction or other in-kind donation opportunities are also available. See full details in the sponsorship flyer below and CONTACT US to make your sponsorship arrangements.

Museum Updates
A new permanent Swedish Immigration Exhibition is opening in the main museum building in Spring 2025.
The Community Service Program tax credit grant the museum received from Kansas Commerce to preserve and restore the 1904 World’s Fair Swedish Pavilion has been progressing well. We need just a bit more than $1,000 to have the $151,500 needed in funding for critical structural repair to keep the building from collapsing. After we meet that goal, there’s still capacity for another $86,500 in donations under the grant, which will go to partially fund a new roof. This will prevent leaks and water damage as well as restoring a more historically accurate tile look. Learn more HERE.
A new temporary mini-exhibit is under development for the main museum gallery for Spring 2025. Follow us for announcement of the topic soon!
Our Historical Speaker Series continues into the beginning of 2025, with presentations on Lindsborg founding father Rev. Carl Aaron Swensson, journalist Alma Luise Olson, and “Slöyd” woodworking teacher Amalia Rabenius.
Also coming in Spring 2025 will be an updated semi-permanent exhibit highlighting the cement sculptures of Oscar Gunnarson. (See below)
